grandma's back, she had been home in harahan for a few days... news is grim from st.brenard parish, its expected they are goign to find families huddled in death. they've barely entered houses. and in new orleans proper, they're just starting to crack the locks on houses that were locked. the death toll will be high. they might be a) covering it up or b) pulling the classic media tactic of slowly breaking the hell upon earth.
on my aunt leah's house, "everythign is hanging in the trees, they said. even a dead man in a lifejacket... pauline's wedding dress is gone... maybe some nice girl will find it aand have herself a big wedding." all aunt leah and husband has left is a few photos and what they got out with. not even a piling. aunt leah is really sick and grandma isnt feeling too well either. margie is coming back.

some of the girls from new orleans made it back in last weekend and were showing us pictures and video of their trip. they say its eerie seeing their own houses marked with body count x's. and the malls and the troops everywhere. alot of our girl's are complaining because homecoming was canceled and in their lack of depth perception, that's the only important event of the high school year.

i'm in touch with some people whose photo albums were destroyed. i'm going to try abnd restore them as much as i can

according to the local suvivors of the Great Flood 0f 1927, the area my house is in was one of the few places that didnt flood. all the ranchers drove their cattle to here, which is nifty. of course, i'm putting an ax and an air mattress or somethign into the attic, just in case.

i am scared, near tears, worried, my head hurts and i've had fever for the past few days and i cant stop coughing (Sinus infection from HELL as the doctor has been packed its not going away -groan-) and i want of this to be done with. now.
