the nun hath arrived

We went to the Allstate place this morning to file a claim for grandma. I sat with her on the side while mom was in line. Some NBC guy talked to us, Grandma told the Margie story (which we got fixed right and Puggie is going to pick up the ashes) They saw she was an older lady and took us right up. Then, Grandma went to Megs this morning, or rather we brought her because she needed to be with her brothers and sisters. I realized I don’t know fifty percent of my family and they were all in that house. On the drive back be got int he middle of a convoy with buses and military medical and ambulances and power trucks and airport vans and i wish i would have had my camera. Mom and I had Indian after and ended up talking to a Russian/Singapore couple who had evac’ed the garden district. Nice folks, we’ve met a bunch of people through these past days. We tracked down Pat and Patty (aka Sister Anna Maria which is void because she left the convent) in Covington and since dad and JW were in Mandeville cutting some trees… voila, new roomies. Crazy roomies… they were staying with a RCC registered hermit in a quansit hut with no a/c or anything. Extremely religious and zealous and very, very pushy to say the least. But they need a place to stay until Christine (cousin in Atlanta) can fly them out. Besides, Pat has super high blood pressure right now and needs to be in the cool. So the two and their evil dog are here. Puggie and Brian got in and hopefully snapped some pics for yall to see.

yesterday i got so tense and jittery and was about to attack someone, so i yelled at the fridge for 15 minutes and now i'm happy and fine

We’re in process of tidying up the front room for Grandma since we don’t know how long she’s going to be with us. I am happy that’s she is gogin to be with us for awhile because, well, I’ve never really gotten to know any of my grandparents well and here is the chance. School starts up tomorrow and I must admit I am somewhat looking forward to meeting some new people. Hopefully, any Scared Heart Academy girls won’t be mean like they are known to be…

It’ll be interesting I suppose
No complaints‼ :)

it's still sinking in that a short hour or so drive down I-10 or Airline Hwy is a cesspool of death and destruction
and that Margie, the fixture of many a faimly conversation and mind, is gone

I figure you've probably never heard the song "Best of You" by the Foo Fighters, but I can tell you that someone has taken my faith.
I knew that they'd take it too far, because they proved they would a long time ago, but I didn't know they'd take it so far as to just let so many thousands sit and die...
